At the age of 15, Eli Wiesel was sent to Auschwitz by German Nazis. He survived the Holocaust and penned his amazing story in a memoir titled Night.  He went on to teach and advocate for the persecuted people of the world. In 1986, he was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for his incredible strides toward securing dignity for all of humankind.  He passed away in his home at the age 0f 87 this past July.
