2. Harper Lee
Vulture
In 1960, Harper Lee published To Kill A Mockingbird, now recognized as one of the best pieces of American literature. Post publication, Lee’s debut novel continued to win awards. She chose a life of semi-reclusion, shying away from press and attention. She did not publish another book until 2015, when she released Go Set A Watchman, which was later revealed to be a first draft of her only other book.
