John Glenn made history as the first American to orbit the earth. The astronaut turned U.S. senator embarked on yet another journey into space in 1998 when he boarded The Discovery, then becoming to oldest person to ever enter the orbit. Glenn, a champion for space education, is survived by Annie, his wife of 73 years (!!!).
